Weekend Senate Polls Put Democrats Ahead in Alaska, Michigan, and Kansas as PA-01 Ties at 46

InsiderAdvantage surveys of 1,200 likely voters fielded October 9 to 10 show Mary Peltola, Abdul El-Sayed, and Adam Hamilton each leading by one to two points. A Global Strategy Group internal for Bob Harvie puts Pennsylvania's 1st District at 46 to 46, twenty two days before November 3.

Three Senate prints and one House dead heat

InsiderAdvantage released three U.S. Senate surveys on October 11 from fieldwork conducted October 9 to 10 among 1,200 likely voters in each state, with a margin of error of 2.83 points (InsiderAdvantage, October 11, 2026). In Alaska under ranked choice framing, Democrat Mary Peltola led Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan 50 percent to 48 percent. In Michigan, Democrat Abdul El-Sayed led Republican Mike Rogers 48 to 46. In Kansas, Democrat Adam Hamilton led Republican Sen. Roger Marshall 48 to 47 (InsiderAdvantage, October 11, 2026).

On the House side, Politico reported Saturday that an internal Global Strategy Group survey for Democrat Bob Harvie found Harvie and Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick tied at 46 percent among likely voters in Pennsylvania's 1st District, with 8 percent undecided (Politico, October 11, 2026). House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro campaigned for Harvie in Bucks County on Saturday (Politico, October 11, 2026). Put those four receipts next to our boards on Senate races 2026 and most competitive House districts 2026. Twenty two days remain until November 3.

What the PA-01 crossing actually says

Fitzpatrick won reelection in 2024 by 13 points, 56.4 percent to 43.6 percent, while Kamala Harris carried the same district by 0.32 percent (Politico, October 11, 2026; district returns summarized in Big Data Poll race note, October 7, 2026). That 13 point personal cushion is the starting fact. The Global Strategy Group memo argued that undecided swing voters would be more likely to break for Harvie, noting that 60 percent of undecideds said they would prefer Democrats take back control of Congress (Politico, October 11, 2026).

Separate internal polling commissioned by the Fitzpatrick campaign and the National Republican Congressional Committee last month showed Fitzpatrick leading Harvie by 9 points (Politico, October 11, 2026). Cook Political Report still rates the seat Lean Republican in recent public accounts of the race (Philadelphia Inquirer summarizing Cook, October 1, 2026). A 46 to 46 internal is a dated campaign receipt, not a certified flip. A 9 point opposing internal is another dated receipt. Keep both on the same clipboard and leave November 3 to own the seat.

Bucks County is 84.65 percent of the district's geography in standard descriptions of PA-01, with Montgomery County the rest (Big Data Poll race note, October 7, 2026). Fitzpatrick has repeatedly outrun the presidential line there. The question this cycle is whether a national environment that has already moved Cook's House band to nine to 19 seats can shrink a 13 point personal cushion to a coin flip in public polls, not only in a Democratic internal. Until a public poll prints, treat 46 to 46 as a campaign receipt and the NRCC 9 point lead as another. Both can be true on different field dates. Only one canvass will remain.

Senate map pressure at twenty two days

Democrats need a net gain of four Senate seats to take the chamber because Republicans hold 53 seats and Vice President JD Vance would break a 50 to 50 tie (Cook Political Report Senate overview, October 6, 2026; NBC News midterms map notes). Cook on October 6 moved Kansas from Lean Republican to Toss Up, New Hampshire from Toss Up to Lean Democrat, and North Carolina from Lean Democrat to Likely Democrat, revising the Democratic pickup band to two to six seats (Cook Political Report, October 6, 2026; Washington Post, October 6, 2026).

Sunday's InsiderAdvantage package lands inside that revised band. Alaska, Michigan, and Kansas all sit among the competitive Republican held or open lines that decide whether Democrats clear plus four. RealClearPolitics' Alaska average through October 10 put Peltola ahead by 1.4 points, 48.8 to 47.4 (RealClearPolling, Alaska Senate, October 11, 2026). Prediction markets on October 12 priced Democratic House control at 90 percent on both Kalshi and Polymarket and Democratic Senate control at 62 percent on Kalshi and 64 percent on Polymarket (Sikt Intelligence market table, October 12, 2026). Markets are not canvasses. Polls are not canvasses. Stack them next to what history says about the 2026 midterm House and wait for the clerks.

Cook's October 9 House package moved eighteen races toward Democrats and set a most likely Democratic pickup band of nine to 19 seats, or roughly 224 to 234 Democratic seats if the band holds (Cook Political Report, October 9, 2026). That House weather is why a Lean Republican seat like PA-01 now draws Jeffries and Shapiro on a Saturday. It is also why Sunday's Senate package in Alaska, Michigan, and Kansas matters for the harder chamber. House odds near 90 percent do not finish a Senate map that still requires net plus four. Print both instruments. Do not collapse them into one wave label.

Pump table and what Monday settles

AAA on Monday put national regular gasoline at $4.3556 a gallon and diesel at $6.2665, both a tick below Sunday, with year ago marks of $3.0833 and $3.6653 (AAA Fuel Prices, October 12, 2026). Diesel's recorded national peak remains $6.5276 on September 22 (AAA Fuel Prices). The pump table does not invent a Speaker. It does sit on the same Monday board as three Senate surveys and a Bucks County House dead heat.

Settled from this weekend's reporting: InsiderAdvantage shows one to two point Democratic leads in Alaska, Michigan, and Kansas; a Harvie campaign internal ties PA-01 at 46 to 46; Jeffries and Shapiro stumped in Bucks County; AAA diesel remains above $6.26 (InsiderAdvantage, October 11, 2026; Politico, October 11, 2026; AAA Fuel Prices, October 12, 2026). Still open: whether public polls confirm the PA-01 tie, whether Alaska's ranked choice tabulation holds the first choice lead, and whether Kansas stays inside Cook's Toss Up column through early vote. A republic that can publish three statewide Senate surveys, an internal House dead heat, a daily national fuel table, and still ask neighbors to finish a sample ballot is doing institutional work in public. Print the numbers. Cite them. Leave the canvass to November 3.
